Borġ in-Nadur

Uniquely positioned on elevated ground between two valleys, Wied Żembaq and Wied Dalam, Borġ in-Nadur’s frontage faces the entrance to the port of Birżebbuġia. This site is close to the famous prehistoric site of Għar Dalam, just 500 meters away. Used in the late Neolithic and during the Bronze Age, between 3000 and 700 BC, the structure was adapted for domestic use during the latter period. Excavated in the 1920s by archaeologist Margaret Murray, the Neolithic site at Borġ in-Nadur offered essential information for a better understanding of aspects of Maltese prehistory, including distinctions between the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods. Silos typically associated with the Bronze Age were discovered in the vicinity of the Neolithic structure.
